Until the Internet came along, discussions of affairs of the heart were few and far between. Since then, they have become one of the most controversial topics of conversation by the young and old alike, married or single, rich or poor.

Seemingly intelligent and successful people get on the Internet and they leave their real life relationships and their common sense at the door. They are so involved in their virtual affairs, that they take no heed of the damage they are doing to their real relationships.

The debate has always been that it takes nothing away from the relationships they have and it's an inexpensive and enjoyable pastime. If this were just a message board where hundreds of people were posting their points of view, it might hold water. But these virtual relationships, once they take off, become a very powerful force and not easy to walk away from.

Spouses are more threatened by an affair of the heart than an actual affair. An affair has its parameters; squeezing in visits whenever possible whereas an affair of the heart, conducted via the Internet, requires no face-to-face meeting and can be arranged at the last minute, at any time of the day or night, or just consist of emails and IMs. Phone calls and text messages are more easily traced, but once people have gotten to that stage, they are almost ready to go to the next level, an actual affair.

Consider the woman who puts on her sexiest nightgown in hopes of enticing her husband to make love with her and, every time she tries to get him to come to bed, he tells her he'll be there in just a minute. Hours later, he is still on the Internet talking to his virtual lover.

Then, there is the man who waits for his wife to come to bed and she is so engrossed in emailing and IMing her virtual lover, that she hardly pays any attention to her husband when he tries to get her to shut off her computer for the night.

Many relationships have ended because the partner feels neglected and can't fight the unseen competition. For those who think an affair of the heart takes nothing away from a person's real relationship, they have never had to compete with a computer for their spouse's attention.

Computers, in and of themselves, can be very addictive, especially if someone has an addictive personality. Factor in an affair of the heart and that person is so hooked that he can't live a normal life. Everything revolves around getting online, staying online, being part of an online community, and building online relationships.

Even if a person does not have an addictive personality, an online affair of the heart can become an addiction that is no easier to break than alcohol or drugs.

Take away someone's computer, take away his community of online friends, take away his virtual lover, and you will see him go through the same physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms as if he were in rehab. If he begins to see this as an addiction and wants to break it, he may have to go cold turkey because there are too many outside influences that could drag him back in.

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus has called on ladies to be careful when choosing a life partner. She complained about the increasing rate of marriage breakups in the society today.

She warned women to strive to keep their homes and advised them against feeling too relaxed in any relationship because it could be dangerous.

The actress further advised that before a lady should profess her love for a guy, she should first investigate the man’s goals in life and weigh them against hers.
Stella noted that it is not a must for a lady to get married to the wealthiest man. According to her, a lady should date a guy who has something meaningful doing for himself.

In her words, “The one thing that I find that is the most reoccurring thing with women is, o he has potential. The truth is, we think that we just meet a man, we fall in love and we want to marry potential. We cannot marry potentials that is why we fall into the issues that we face everyday in marriages.

“Now one thing that I have learnt through experience to people around me is that when you meet a guy, you start to date, you start to fall in love even before you get to that point where he decides to pop the question way before then, your dating period should be a time where you get to know each other. Not what he likes or who his friends are but who he is as a man in terms of his goals in life. If his goals in life do not work with your own, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.”

“First of all, there are some questions that I know are very important to ask when it comes to you being with a guy. You want to know what his goals are, who he wants to be but that is not enough. You must make sure that he must be doing something to achieve those goals.

A man filed for divorce after catching his wife sleeping with her stepson, according to court documents filed in Nigeria.
The husband of Delta State, said that he became suspicious of his 34-year-old wife after she disappeared from the home, and when she returned, the woman claimed to have visited her stepson.


Last week, the husband decided to follow her. He saw his wife enter the home of her stepson. The man looked through window and saw his wife making out with her stepson.

According to a family member, the stepson's wife recently gave birth to a girl. The new mother and her husband moved into the home of the cheating mother so she could help out with the new baby.

That is when the mother and her stepson began having a sexual relationship. After three months, the young couple returned to their home.

The mother, who was missing her stepson, began traveling to his home to continue their sexual relationship. The woman admitted to the allegations made against her.

Music icon, 2face Idibia has denied the stories surrounding a picture of him kissing Pero Adeniyi, mother to three of his children.
The pictures circulated online on Tuesday, but 2face and his wife have denied stories that he was cheating.

2Face took to Instagram to deny the allegation;

“Our love does not have 2 make sense 2 u. pls go on with your perfect life and know the true story behind something before u judge and start making nasty comments based on an orchestrated story by some blog.U shall know the truth and the truth shall set u free.LYTID uwana idibia” he wrote.

Annie Idibia released a statement insisting that when the picture was taken she was not with 2face.She said that Pero Adeniyi poses no threat whatsoever to her relationship with her husband.
